Our Family

About Erin

I was born and rasied in Cape Girardeau. After college I got married and we moved to St. Louis a year later. Soon after we bought a house and had a baby. Our lastest adventure was deciding to bring our family back to Cape! It's great being so close to both sets of grandparents and family!

Colton- 17/18 Months

As you can tell, I am a little late on reporting everything that has happened this month.  I am still going to blame this on the holidays.  I have to be honest it has been really awesome to just lay low and not do much!!  Anywho..........

I can't get over how big you are!  You copy everything big brother Frankie does and definitely do not like the word NO.  You are repeating almost anything and I can make out almost everything you say.  You and Frankie are really good friends and you both love to play together, most of the time anyway.  You have started to hit him when he does something you don't like and you will also put you hand out and tell him no.  Recently you have also started stomping and hit things when you get angry or we don't let you do something.  You are by far one of the happiest little guys I know and your smile can light up a room.  I just want to squeeze you because you are so darn cute!!  Here are a few things we want to remember about you:

  •  You had RSV and a ear infection at the beginning of January but you handled it like a trooper and were back to your self after only a few days.

  • You hate the doctor's office and dislike the nurses and doctors even more.

  • You still love to dance.  You mainly bounce and wave your hands in the air but you are always so happy when you are doing it.  We have a army hamster things that sings and you love that, you will march while his music is playing and you also enjoy dancing to the song the Jake and the Never land pirate boat plays.

  • You are so fast when you run.  You kind of put your hand behind you when you take off, it is adorable but you are super fast!  You have also master climbing on pretty much all the furniture now.  Nothing is safe!

  • You say hi and wave, you blow kisses and say bye and wave when we are leaving.  You love playing peek-a-boo too!

  • You are pretty independent and know what you want.  You also don't mind to play by yourself.

  • You love anything that is shaped round like a ball.  You have a pretty good arm on your too!

  • You say: wow, pretty, mommy, daddy, mine, please, thank you, puppy, Colton, Frankie, Sissy, I want down, again, one more, baby, Chachy, sit, down, cheers, night night, paci and outside.  You and mimic almost anything we ask you to say too.

  • You nod yes or no when we ask you a questions.

  • You love to snack but haven't been so big on dinner time.  I honestly can't even remember the last time you ate dinner but Mrs. Erica says you do pretty good at lunch time.  You LOVE mixed fruit cup and especially like the cherry. You also LOVE gummies (aka fruit snacks).

  • I think you have 10 teeth and possible more coming in but I don't want to risk putting my hand in there and getting bite!  LOL!

  • You are still in size 3 diapers but that main reason is I bought a big box at Sam's before you basically out grew them!  You will be in a size 4 very soon.  You are wearing 18 month clothing but some of the shirts are starting to look small.  204 months here we come!

  • At your 18 month well check you were 22 lbs 11 oz in the 10th percentile and 31 1/2 inches tall in the 25th percentile.

Little man you are the sweetest thing I have even seen!  We love you to the moon and back!  There is never a dual moment with you!  I love you so much!!

Curtis "Christmas" Dinner

A little late but.........in the beginning of January we had our annual "Christmas" dinner.  This year we all decided that the most people could come if we did it after Christmas.  Honestly I feel like it was the best idea yet!  I felt like it wasn't so rush and was super enjoyable, plus almost everyone could attend!  Eat year it gets bigger and bigger.  It's hard to believe this whole thing started with just our parents and grew to their kids and our kids.  It always so much fun getting together with everyone and really enjoying all the good company!

Kid's table

Mrs. Lisa always does an amazing job!

There will be 2 more little ones at this table next year. Crazy!

I turn my back for a few minutes and find Colton with his shirt off. LOL!

The whole gang!  Maybe next year everyone can come!!
So blessed and thankful for this group of people!  No matter how close of friends we are we will always "fit" together!  Love Curtis Christmas so much!  I look forward to it every year!!

Until next year..................

Catching Up

Thought I would play a little catch up tonight. Thanksgiving through Christmas was crazy busy, yes it was all fun but still so exhausting! January we have really been laying kind of low. Frankie was sick the first week of January with a double ear infection and chest congestion. The second week Colton had an ear infection and RSV. After that we had a little break in sickness but its hit us hard this weekend. Trey is sick and Colton has influenza A. He has been pretty pitful. Praying everyone else slips by without getting it. We shall see...

Picture recap:

My work Christmas party. We decided to have it after Christmas and I enjoyed it more I think!

New car garage!

Sick baby, round 1.

Bubble bath boys.

Saturday morning cleaning.

Doesn't everyone travel with Batman glasses and a buzz gun!

18 month well check! Healthy boy!

Sawyer turned 1! Sweet girl loved her cupcake!

Getting ready for spring!

My bestie Trisha sent me flowers "just because"! Love her!

Having fun at the basketball game!

Frankie took this picture! He is getting better at selfies!

It happened....influenza A has hit my little man.

Poor buddy doesn't feel good at all. Hoping the tamiflu helps some.

My parents are awesome and watched the boys so I could go to a baby shower. The girls that threw it did such a great job!

The mash-tini bar was such a great idea and it was super yummy!!

Meanwhile mom took Frankie shopping and he talked her in getting him some new Legos. He played with them the rest of the day!

So blessed to have amazing parents! No sure what we would do with out them! Now time to finish watching The Bachelor wedding! :)

Hopefully will be caught up with the rest of my blog post this week.

2014 Goals

I don't do a resolution anymore because I can never keep it, but the word goal means a little more to me.  Here are some of my goals for 2014 and hopefully some become lifestyle changes!
  • Letting go of some of the control and just rolling with the punches. (this will be extremely hard for me and I have already failed several times)
  • Stop yelling! (this might be evening harder for me)
  • Finish decorating the house and save up to finish some outside projects this Spring and Summer.
  • Workout 3 times a week
  • Choose healthier snacks and cut back on sweets (this is going to kill me!!)
  • Floss daily
  • Do a "Feel Good Jar" when something good happens to us we will write it down and then read them at the end of the year.
  • Take a family vacation
  • Take a kid fee mini vacation
  • Pay down on the truck and build back our savings
  • Continue on our cash budget and paying for things in cash
I think all of these things are doable as long as Trey & I as a team and work towards them.  2013 was an amazing year and we are looking forward to see what comes of 2014.  Here are a few pictures I took of the boys are New Year's Day.

And that right there is as good as it gets folks.  They were not having it!!
