Our Family

About Erin

I was born and rasied in Cape Girardeau. After college I got married and we moved to St. Louis a year later. Soon after we bought a house and had a baby. Our lastest adventure was deciding to bring our family back to Cape! It's great being so close to both sets of grandparents and family!

Discovery Playhouse

Last Saturday we went to Discovery Playhouse with some friends. Frankie had so much fun!! I think Colton had a good time too.

He loves the train table. He always stays there the longest even though we have one at home.

We finished off our day with eating at Old McDonald (McDonald's). It was such a fun day with Frankie and Colton! We also enjoyed hanging out with Mrs. Whitney, Brynn, Mrs. Bryanna, Jacob and Aubrey.

Colton- 6 Months

Half a year old already.  It seems like every month just sneaks up on us, you will be a year in just 6 short months.  You are really starting to get a personality.  You smile and talk all the time.  You are very laid back and mellow yellow just like your daddy.  When you are hungry you want to eat right now, just like your mommy!!  You have had some major skin issues but I think we finally have it under control. Here are a few things we want to remember about you:

* You can roll over really good now.  You mainly roll from back to belly.  You can roll from belly to back but you choose to fuss so we roll you back over.

*  You love eating rice cereal and we got to introduce fruits again.

* You started to sleep better but then you went right back to waking every 2-3 hours.

* You are better at reaching and grabbing at things and can hold on to them for longer.  You love Sophie (Gary) the giraffe and anything else that can go in your month.  Just like you big brother you love all music and lights too.

* You love to watch Mickey Mouse on TV.  I hate that you watch TV but it has really been a life saver when I have to do something other than hold you.

* You are getting much better at sitting in the bumbo but we still us the bouncy seat a lot.

* You really love watching and hearing your brother do anything.  He always makes you smile and laugh.

* You said da da when I was trying to get you to say ma ma.  You still have never said ma ma but you sure made daddy's day.

* You are taking 6-8, 6oz bottles a day and just like last month you usually don't finish them.

* Your daily schedule: 5:30-6:30 am- bottle, 9:30 am- rice cereal, then bottle, 10 am- nap, 12:30 pm- bottle, 1 pm- nap, 3:30-4:30 pm- bottle, 5:30 pm- fruits, 6:15 pm- bath and 6:30 pm bed.
At night you usually get up 10:30, 1:30, 3:30 & 6.  Its a little different each night and sometime not as often.

* You are wearing size 2 diapers and 6-9 month clothing.  I don't know if it's because it's all hand me down from Frankie but it already seems a little tight.  I think the 12 month box will be coming out soon.

* At your 6 month check up you were: 15 lbs 10 oz- 13%, 26 1/4 inches tall- 43% and you head was 42 inches around-10%.

Happy 6 months little buddy!!  We love you so much!!  You are such a good, content baby!

Happy New Year!

Ok so I know I am 17 days late....but better late than never (right?)!  I have been so lazy these past few weeks but I think it is just what I all needed.  Down time has been much appreciated after our super busy 2012 year!!  First I wanted to do a little looking back at our year:

January: We just laid low and tried to recover from the holidays!  I also finally started to feel like myself again.  Bye-bye morning sickness!
February:  We spent most of our free time at birthday parties, baby showers and wedding!
March: Found out that baby #2 is a BOY!
April: Had a lot of fun planning for baby Colton and hanging out with family and friends.  We also finally got the basement finished (it looks amazing thanks to my daddy and Trey)!!!
May: Frankie turned 2!  We took him to the zoo and a Cardinals game to celebrate (ok we wanted to go to)!!
June: We took our FIRST & LAST beach vacation as a family of 3!  Frankie loved the sand and the ocean!  My cousin Jennifer also got married and Frankie was the ring bearer.  Cutest thing ever!!
July: David Colton Boyer was born on 7/9/12!
August: We took a mini family trip to STL.  Frankie also got a big boy bed!
September: Enjoyed my last month on maternity leave with the boys.  Also had lots of fun at the fair!
October: I went back to work on October 1. :(  We enjoyed the pumpkin patch and lots of birthday parties and baby showers.
November: Colton got baptized and we enjoyed Thanksgiving with family!
December: My dad had back surgery but seems to be healing well.  We had a blast at Christmas.  Frankie loved everything about it!

*The highlight of my year was our beach vacation it was just what we needed before Colton was born!!  Colton is the sweetest little guy ever!!  We are so blessed!

2013 Goals:
  • Lose 8 lbs
  • Slow down and enjoy the little things
  • Finish decorating the living room and kitchen
  • Finish decorating Frankie's room
  • Pay off debit (minus truck & house)
  • Keep our cash budget
  • Pay cash for things
  • Get Colton sleeping through the night
Ok so I made these goals before the New Year and I have to say so far we have kept them.  :)  If I lose 8 lbs I will be back to my pre Frankie weight.  Honestly I don't care much about weight however I would like all of my old clothes to fit so we shall see.  I have changed my breakfast and lunch eating habits and that has helped some, just need to add a little working out to the mix.  Decorating will come when it comes but we have been in this house for close to 2 years and still don't have anything on the wall in the living room and kitchen.  We do have our ideas and will slowly get the things we want. :)  Frankie room is getting a face lift since he got a big boy bed and new dinosaur bedding! The debit thing is big for us this year.  We would love to have Trey's student loan paid off and finish paying off the basement!!  We have a plan and know we can do it!!  I have been saying for a few years now that I know we would do better if we used cash and stuck to a cash budget.  Well this year that is exactly what we are doing.  We are very excited and have already seen awesome results just in the short 17 days that we have been doing it.  I hope we can keep it up.  Lastly, Colton still gets up every 2-3 hours at night.  I know we both would be so much happier if we could just get him sleeping through the night.

It wouldn't be a blog post without a few pictures:
 Best Big Bro....................Best Baby Bro

Yep that's the best I could get.  Haha!

Hope everyone has a blessed and happy 2013!!  Can't wait to see what is in store for us this year!

New Year's Eve 2012

Let me tell you, we had a crazy night!!  Haha!  We had a family over and ate snacks and played in the basement!  The kids started to get fussy around 8:30 so we called it a night.  I think that I was sleeping by 9pm!!

This is what Frankie thought of the Happy New Year hat.

Colton didn't seem to mine though.

Then he realized that something was on his head.  Haha!

Frankie playing with Aubrey.  He was so sweet to her.

This is how Frankie bowl so watch out.  I did get hit with the ball and it hurt.

Silly kiddos.  I wish I would have gotten one with Jacob in it, but I guess there is always next year!

 Classy in our white tees.

Sister Girl!!

We had a great laid back night!!  It was perfect and just what we all needed.  Hoping 2013 bringing just as much fun as 2012 did!  HAPPY NEW YEAR!!4
